A “Vintage Teddy Bear Tea Party” in honor of Kierra’s 6th birthday, was recently held at the fabulous Café Boulud at the historic Brazilian Court in Palm Beach.
The only thing more fun than shooting a “posh tots” party, is styling and planning one!
The event was coordinated to perfection, by catering manager, Emily Marrah and her top-notch Café Boulud staff.
The breathtaking florals, vintage decor and table scape, was creative courtesy of MB Florals by Marjorie Bennett and her amazing team. (thank you, ladies!)
Each of the eighteen young guests had their own place card at the royal table, and when it was time for seating, they made their grand entrance individually… “Introducing, Lady Asha!”, etc. until all the girls were in place.
The five-tier fondant birthday cake, was a work of art… (almost too beautiful to eat) it featured a tea cup at the top filled with chocolates, spiraling with sweets.
Alongside it, a mini tea-pot cake, complete with marzipan Teddy Bears and sugar roses.
Each chair was sashed with pink and gold silk organza bows. Antique hued pastel flowers, unique vase installations, and vintage linens adorned the tabletops.
Outside on the enclosed veranda, craft tables were set up where the girls could create their own scrapbooking pages, and craft little custom teapot favors, with help from their mommies.
The invitations was a triple stack of tea cups, with pull out teabag shaped linen inner invites, encouraging the young ladies to attend wearing their best vintage inspired tea party attire.
Okay… how cute are these little ceramic dancing teapots and saucers???
The fact that each girl had her own unique antique teacup, enhanced the eclectic feel of the table.
Beneath each setting, sat an ivory lace doily, and each napkin was wrapped in a pearl ring with silk organza ribbon running thru.
A customized “honey favor” accompanied each plate.
The “gift” table was filled with antiques and featured a custom banner, and some very beautifully wrapped gifts. What a terrific idea… wrapping the present in newspaper and adding a feather bow.
Once the space was set, the birthday girl took one last look in the mirror before her guests arrived.
Then sits at the door ready to greet her guests. Who to her amazement, seemed to all arrive at once. “Mommy, I almost fainted when I saw how many of my friends came… for me!!!”
Yummy Hors d’oeuvres were hand passed as the mommies did crafts with their daughters.
Once the girls were seated at the royal table, a berry bowl was served, followed by gourmet tea sandwiches, lobster, mini monte cristos, cucumber, egg salad, salmon, served on assorted breads
Cranberry and Lemonade Beverages were served in antique jam jars, with covers and flagged straws.
After the luncheon, the kids had a ball tasting the confectionary delights by Café Bouluds five star pastry chefs, who also created the amazing cake.
Waters “to go” were given out at the door, along with take home bags for all their party swag.

Earlier in the day, arriving guest were given an agenda, and escorted to the veranda.
There was an “Adopt-a-Bear” station. Where each girl got to select a uniquely dressed vintage bear, to name and adopt as her very own. Special thanks to my mother Gayle, aka: “Nanny,” who spent weeks lovingly decorating and dressing each bear by hand.
They even received their own certificate of adoption.
There was a Vintage Boutique Dress up Station, which contained custom tea party hats, opera gloves, pearls, vintage jewelry, purses, scarves dresses, fans, and hair accessories.
An oh-so-girly antique vanity was nearby, to complete the ambiance.
The girls had an absolute ball, and kept changing hats, jewelry and more throughout the party.
Even the mommies got in on the dress-up fun.
Some even picked out fun hats for their mommy-daughter portraits.
While other mom’s were busy helping their little girls create fun tea-inspired projects at the craft tables.
Later, after dessert was ravenously consumed, the girls organized gift opening.
Each girl found their present, and came up the the antique velvet bench to sit beside the birthday girl, as they opened their cards and gifts together.
Kierra graciously thanked each guest their gift and for coming and posed for a portrait with them.
As the last of her guests departed…
My little birthday girl tossed a coin in the fountain, making one last birthday wish.
A teeny bit sad that her big day was over (not to mention tired) she collapsed on a nearby chaise lounge…
When it was time to go, she gave her new teddy bear a kiss…
Then tucked him in to his vintage carriage and they headed for home…
Another year older.
